Orangespotted Emperor

Lethrinus erythracanthus

Blueish head, fins yellow to dingy yellowish.

Size : 70 cm

Habitat : In deep lagoons and outer reef slopes, 10-120 m. One one the largest species of its genus. Loner. Shy and uncommon. It feeds on sea urchins, starfish, mussels and shelled snails.

Distribution : East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, GBR and French Polynesia.
