Red Sea Half-and-half Chromis

Pycnochromis dimidiatus

Striking colouration, cannot be distinguished from its Pacific sister species (C. iomelas, GBR to Fiji).

Size : 7 cm

Habitat : In lagoons and outreef, 1-36 m. Usually in groups or large shoals at reef edges or exposed reef posts. Feeds on zooplankton in open water. Not shy.

Distribution : Read Sea and East Africa to Thailand, Java and Christmas Islands.
