Dascyllus aruanus

Three black bands, black ventral fin.

Size : 8 cm

Habitat : Shallow lagoons, protected patch reefs and bays, 0.5-20 m. Hovers in loose groups just above branch coral such as Acropora and Pocillopora and feeds on zooplankton from the water. When disturbed, instantly flees between the coral branches.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, Line Islands and French Polynesia.
