Spotted Garden Eel

Heteroconger hassi

Whitish with numerous black spots (with small spots as a variant), a large black spot on the gill opening and another on the back.

Size : 40-70 cm

Habitat : Inhabits sandy surfaces in lagoons and outreefs, 5 to more than 40 m. Usually in large colonies.

Distribution : East Africa, Seychelles, the Maldives to SW Japan, Line Islands and Tonga.
