Crinoid Clingfish

Discotrema

Bright horizontal stripe from the eye to the tail, bonded at the brow by a same colour area. Colouration varies depending on the colouration of the relevant feather stars.
The blue variant in particular shows how excellently this species is camouflaged by the feathers star.

Size : 3 cm

Habitat : Inhabits feather stars, about 8-20 m. It is difficult to discover because of its colour camouflage and its very hidden lifestyle.

Distribution : Christmas Islands to SW Japan, Fiji and GBR.
