Silverlined Cardinalfish

Ostorhinchus hartzfeldii

Pale tail with black spot on tail root. Fine white eye and back stripes.

Size : 11 cm

Habitat : In protected coastal reefs and lagoons, 2-20 m. Active at night, usually in small groups near the seabed in front of living coral, coral rubble or rock during the day. Also seeks protection around long spiny sea urchins.

Distribution : Bali and Borneo to the Philippines, Palau and Solomons.
