Ringtail Cardinalfish

Ostorhinchus aureus

Orange, fading to the back. A pair of blue stripes is drawn through the eyes and above the snout. Blue stripes in the angle of the mouth, black tail band.

Size : 12 cm

Habitat : Inhabits protected lagoons and coastal reefs, 2-40 m. Often in larger groups.

Distribution : East Africa to SW Japan, GBR and Tonga.
