Banggai Cardinalfish

Pterapogon kauderni

Unmistakable with extended fins, black stripe pattern and white dots.

Size : 6 cm

Habitat : Inhabits protected areas with sand, mud or rubble, occasionally also in algae growth, 1-15 m. In groups of a few to several dozen fish, always close to the seabed. Seeks protection between sea urchin barbs and anemones.

Distribution : Known from Bali, Banggai Island and North Sulawesi.
