Triangular Butterflyfish

Chaetodon triangulum

Black triangle on the caudal fin. Similar: C. Baroness with yellowish grey tail.

Size : 15 cm

Habitat : In lagoons and out reefs, 3-25 m. Territorial, usually at Acropora table corals, feeds predominantly on their polyps. Juveniles alone. Adults in pairs and not shy.

Distribution : Madagascar to the Maldives, Gulf of Bengal, Andaman Sea and Java.
