Chaetodon punctatofasciatus

Dark vertical stripes on upper body half, numerous dark dots in the area of the tail base.

Size : 12 cm

Habitat : Prefers clear, coral-rich lagoons and out reefs, 1-40 m. Usually in pairs. Feeds on blanket-weed algae, coral polyps and bottom-dwelling invertebrates.

Distribution : Christmas Islands and Rowley Shoals to SW Japan, Line Islands and GBR.
