Back and tail root are black. Similar: C. ocellicaudus, with isolated tail base spot

Size : 15 cm

Habitat : In coral-rich reefs, lagoons, bays and out reefs, 1-20 m. Swims alone or in pairs through a large home territory. Feeds on plops of stony and most coral.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to S Japan, Micronesia and Samoa.
