Vertical angular markings. Dark notched caudal fin with black fringe.

Size : 140 cm

Habitat : Prefers current-rich outreefs, also in deep lagoons, 1-50 m. In large, semi-stationary schools during the day, sticking to the same location sometimes for months. At night, shoals dissolve probably in search of food.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to Panama and French Polynesia.
