Description

Argiope catenulata females are larger in size than males. The female cephalothorax is yellow with black eye margins, the abdomen is oval with a black and yellow-white back pattern, and there are brown patches, irregular in shape in the center of the opisthosoma. The legs are black with thin white rings. Males have a brownish-red to yellowish-brown cephalothorax with black eye margins. The abdomen is oval, yellow in color, has the same pattern as the female. The legs are yellowish brown.
