Description

The Indo-Chinese Rat Snake (Ptyas korros) is a large, slender, and fast-moving snake found across Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and parts of Indonesia. It has a brown or olive dorsal coloration with a lighter underside, and juveniles often display faint crossbars. This species is diurnal and highly active, frequently encountered in agricultural areas, forests, and near human settlements where it hunts for rodents, frogs, and small birds.

Non-venomous. The Indo-Chinese Rat Snake does not possess venom dangerous to humans and subdues prey through constriction or swift strikes.

Distribution

Indo-chinese Rat Snake live in open habitats, such as forests, gardens and agricultural areas. In Bali, it is recorded that it is located in rice fields, montane forests, beaches to areas with an altitude of 1400 m above sea level.
