Oligodon octolineatus

Description

A small snakes with distinctive dark lines on the head, one across the snout and down throught the eye, another angling back from the temple. Colour pale brown to orange – brown with six dark lines down the body, the uppermost pair joined at the head and enclosing a central stripe which is usually reddish or a richer brown.

Eight-striped Kukri Snake live on agricultural land near sea level of the Buleleng Regency, Bali. Elsewhere recorded in various forests and gardens, mainly at low elevations, but up to 1000 m asl.
