Description

Hemiphyllodactylus typus has a small, slender, elongated body. The head is small, slightly distinct from neck, the tail is cylindrical, the tip often curled in a prehensile manner. Inner forefoot toe stunted, clawless. The skin is fine grained, light brown or cream in color, with a dark brown stripe from nose to shoulder. The color of the tail is paler, yellowish or creamy with characteristic dark-edged mark at base. Juveniles are more purple with pink spots on face, body and feet with orangey tail.
