Description

Trachypithecus auratus has a medium body size with an average weight of 7 kg, a long tail. Her hair color is shiny black to silvery black with a slighty of brown on the legs and belly. The female individual has a yellowish white spot on the genitals. Lutung juvenile’s hair color orange, will get darker with age.

Distribution

Trachypithecus auratus inhabits dry lowlands to highlands, swamp forests, mangrove forests, beaches, secondary forests and plantations of teak, mahogany and acacia. Can be found to the mountain forest with an altitude of 3,500 m above sea level.
