Description

Its body is elongated, with a tongue that can be extended up to a third of its body length to find ants in its nest. His hair is modified into a kind of large scales that are arranged to form a layered shield as a means of self-protection. If disturbed, he will roll his body like a ball. Body size is about 40-65 cm, and body weight reaches 10 kg. The male individual’s body is larger than that of the female individual.

Population number​

As of 2016, all pangolin species, including the Sunda pangolin, are listed by CITES in its Appendix I, which prohibits international trade in wild-caught specimens or body parts.
