Description

Phalanta alcippe has orange forewings with black patches and spots. The two wings are bordered by a black, slightly thick line at the apex of the forewings. The undersides of the wings are pale yellow in color with a large series of black spots on the postdiscal forewings. Female wings have wider and thicker markings or patchs.
