Eurema hecabe has bright lemon yellow wings with black apex markings on the upper sides of the forewings, the undersides of the wings are paler with some dark brown markings. The female butterfly is larger and paler in color with black markings widely scattered on the upper sides of the wings.
Larva: Eurema hecabe larvae are cylindrical and slightly flattened, green in color, large head and rough surface.
Pupa: The Eurema hecabe pupa is green in color, the wing covers are joined to form a deep and sharp keel, the head covering is pointed and short. Sometimes found in large groups on tree branches.
