Description

Oryctes rhinoceros is a pest for palm plants. The body is dark brown or black in color. On the ventral part of the body has reddish-brown hair. The female also has the reddish-brown hair on the tip of the abdomen. It has horn used for leverage when moving within tightly-packed leaves or cavity it creates in palms. The male’s horn is longer than the females.
