Description

Oecophylla smaragdina life in colony, the workers are red and sometimes yellowish red, has short hair on the under of abdomen. The males are similar in color with workers, sometimes brownish, the hairs are reddish brown, has hyaline wings yellowish brown in color reaching beyond abdomen. The queens of colony is emerald green and translucent, varieties are found pale yellow with markings on the head and thorax.
