Surniculus lugubris

Description

Surniculus lugubris has a medium-sized body (23 cm). The fur is glossy black, the beak is black, the irises of the female are yellow, while the male is brown. The thigh and lower tail cover feathers are white. The underside of the outer tail feathers are white, and the legs are gray-blue. Juvenile birds: Uneven white mottling.
