Cinclidium diana

Description

Cinclidium diana is an endemic bird whose habitat is only found in Indonesian forests. The male bird looks dark blue which is a bit dark in almost all parts of his body. On the forehead looks silver white. The beak and legs are jet black with slightly black eyes. As for the female bird, it looks reddish brown in the upper part of her body starting from the cheeks, head, nape, back, wings, and tail. On the lower part of the body starting from the chest and abdomen area looks a slightly dull whitish gray.

Country : This bird is an endemic bird in Indonesia, it can only be found on the islands of Sumatra and Java. Generally inhabit mountainous areas in northern and western Sumatra such as Leuser, Kerinci, Berastagi, and Dempu. The population in Java is usually in the eastern part close to the Dieng plateau.

Habits and Lifestyle

Cinclidium diana is quite shy by hiding behind the thick leaves and only making a chirping sound rather than revealing itself. This bird is rarely seen, because most of its time is spent quietly among the undergrowth in the high mountain forest areas. Live alone or in pairs.
