Description

Padda oryzivora is a small warbler species of the family estrildidae. Has a white color on the cheeks, black on the head, and a red beak. Adult birds, both male and female, have gray feathers, reddish brown belly, while young birds are brown.

Population threats​

This species is rapidly shrinking and is threatened with extinction in its natural habitat in a short time due to illegal fishing, loss of forest habitat, and much demand by bird keepers. So now it is difficult to find wren in rice fields or fields.

Population number​

Padda oryzivora were evaluated as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List and listed in CITES Appendix II.
