Description

Merops leschenaulti is a bird that is rather small (20 cm). Brown and dark green on tail. The crown, nape and coat are light chestnut brown. The wings and tail are green. The yellow throat is bordered by chestnut brown. On the upper chest there is a narrow black line. Pale green belly. Black eye strip. Orange lower wings, visible during flight. Reddish brown slices, black beak, dark brown legs.
