Description

Merops philippinus is a rather large (30 cm) bird species. Black stripes through the eyes of the heart by blue lines below and above it. Green head and coat. Tunggir and blue tail. Yellow chin. Chestnut brown throat. Chest and belly pale green. Orange lower wings are visible while flying. Black iris, black beak, dark brown legs.
