Description

Hydrornis guajanus is a species of bird from the Pittidae family. Its general characteristic is that it has a medium-sized body (22 cm). The body looks fat, golden stripes. The head is black with yellow eyebrows that are striking and distinctive. Back and wings are brown with white wing outline. The tail is blue, and the chin is white. For the Javanese race, the chest and sides of the hull are black and yellow stripes. Black beak and legs with brown irises. The difference between males and females can be seen from the blue line on the upper chest of male species, while for females the color is gloomy and redder.

This bird is shy, sometimes seen crossing the road in the forest, but more often than not. Jumping quickly along forest floors or dead trunks, sometimes in low shrubs, barking trees or rattan. At night perch on low vegetation as high as 1-3 m from the ground. Live solitary or sometimes in pairs.
