Whitepatch Razorfish

Iniistius aneitensis

TP: large whitish spot rear of the pectoral fin.
Occasionally show 3-4 vertical stripes, which however contrast only weakly with the basic colouration. Juvenile phase in two colour variants.

Size : 24 cm

Habitat : On open sand surfaces near the reef in lagoons and at outreefs, 10-90 m. At night, sleeps burried in the sand like other razorfish.

Distribution : Chagos Islands to SW Japan, Hawaii, Micronesia.
