Dorsal and anal fin seamed black.
Size : 35 cm
Habitat : Inhabits clear outer reef slopes, 4-60 m.
Alone or in loose groups, up to a few metres above the seabed. Feeds on algae, various invertebrates such as crustaceans and sponges, as well as small fish.
Distribution : East Africa to S Japan, Hawaii, Galapagos and French Polynesia.
