Sargocentron diadema

Red with white stripes. First dorsal fin black-red.

Size : 25 cm

Habitat : In lagoons and outreefs, 2-60 m. During the day, often found alone or in small groups below overhangs or in front of cavities. Captures snails, worms and small crabs at night on sandy surfaces.

Distribution : Red Sea, Oman, East Africa to SW Japan, Hawaii, SE Australia and French Polynesia. Migrated into the eastern Mediterranean.
