Bluestriped Snapper

Lutjanus kasmira

Yellow with four pale blue horizontal stripes. Pale underside, dark shadow around eye.

Size : 35 cm

Habitat : In lagoons and out reefs, 3-265 m. Alone, in groups and in large shoals. Hunts alone at night for small fish and bottom-dwelling crustaceans.

Distribution : Red Sea and East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, SE Australia and French Polynesia.
