Yellowbar Parrotfish

Scarus rubroviolaceus

A yellowish spot on the back which extends further to the ventral side as a pale crossband.
Initial-Phase: (Female): Grey-brown with light sides stripes. Occasionally moves in large groups through the reef in search of food.

Size : 38 cm

Habitat : Inhabits coral-rich lagoons and outreefs, 1-50 m. Often above mixed areas with coral and rubble.

Distribution : E Indonesia (e.g. Flores) to SW Japan, Micronesia, Australia and French Polynesia.
