Striped Large-eye Bream

Gnathodentex aureolineatus

Silver-grey with a luminous yellow spot at the rear base of the dorsal fin.

Size : 30 cm

Habitat : Inhabits lagoons and outer reef slopes, 2-20 m. Often floats during the day in stationary congregations in the vicinity of coral formations. Disperses at night in search of food.

Distribution : East Africa to SW Japan, Micronesia, Line Islands, SE Australia and French Polynesia.
