Yellowstriped Cardinalfish

Ostorhinchus cyanosoma

An orange-yellow side stripe beginning above the eye and cut off beneath the back edge of the first dorsal fin.

Size : 8 cm

Habitat : In lagoons and protected out reefs, 1-50 m. Floats during the day in small or larger groups in front of coral or coral rock. Hunts zooplankton alone at night.

Distribution : Red Sea, Arabian Gulf and East Africa to SW Japan and Marshall Islands, GBR and Fiji.
