Description

The upper body is gray, silver, or brownish, while the lower side of the body is yellowish. The tail is olive colored with the edges of the scales blackish. The underside is pale yellow. In young snakes, there are spots or whitish spots on the body. These white patches or spots fade with age.

Distribution

Indo-chinese Rat Snake live in open habitats, such as forests, gardens and agricultural areas. In Bali, it is recorded that it is located in rice fields, montane forests, beaches to areas with an altitude of 1400 m above sea level.

Country : India (Assam), Bangladesh, Cina Selatan including Pulau Hainan, and Hongkong, Taiwan, Asia Tenggara, Indonesia , Kalimantan, Sumatra until Bali.

Habits and Lifestyle

This snake is active during the day, foraging above ground, can be aggressive when provoked. Even so, these snakes usually prefer to avoid contact with humans.
