Eurema sari

Description

Eurema sari has lemon yellow upper wings with a jagged black outline and the veins 2 & 4 are slightly indented. The undersides of the wings are yellow with brown spots, the tops of the forewings are dark brown. The male species has markings located along the cubital veins on the undersides of the forewings.

Larva: larvae of Eurema sari are cylindrical, body and head capsule are yellowish green, have lateral whitish yellow bands, turbecles and setae that are very short.

Pupa: Eurema sari pupae is yellow-green in color, has a pointed head, keeled wing pad and most of the body is unmarked unless the dorsal area has a narrow brownish band.

Mating Habits

Eurema sari reproduce by laying eggs (oviparous), the eggs are laid individually on the upper surface of the leaves of the host plant. The eggs are spindle shaped that are placed standing at one end. It is whitish in color and has vertical dorsal stripes, about 1.4 mm long.
